Ashley Smith is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Amoeba TSC, overseeing digital transformation initiatives across fibre networks, ISPs, and field operations. With over 30 years of experience in telecommunications and technical leadership, he focuses on integrating industry-proven digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency.

At Amoeba TSC, he leads the implementation of digital solutions that improve processes through automation and advanced tools. Previously, as Group CTO at EDGE Telecoms Holdings, he developed engineering practices across Internet Services, Fibre Networks, and Renewable Energy segments, including the launch of South Africa’s first disaggregated broadband solution. He also held leadership roles at Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent, specializing in network transformation.
